Brand. Wendy Simons has been known to me for 22 years. In that
time, I have had many occasions to invoke her expertise in the
care of elderly persons, both personally and professionally. In the early 1990’s, Wendy helped me to recognize the
signs that my parents should no longer live alone. It was a
difficult time for me and I was in denial. She helped me to
help my parents and they were able to live out their final years
in comfort and safety, largely due to the advice Wendy
provided. My only regret is that Park Place, the wonderful
assisted living facility envisioned and brought to fruition by
Wendy, was not open in time for my parents to be under Wendy’s
perfect care.
...From 1994 to
2004, I was a Deputy Attorney General for the state of Nevada.
One of my assignments was to represent the State Division of
Aging Services. Once again, Wendy became my consultant about
many of the tough issues faced by older adults and their
families. She also served on the Nevada Counsel to Prevent
Elder Abuse with me and helped me to propose important
legislation for protecting the elderly.
